    Description

The Chinese silver bracelet (please note Chinese silver is not sterling) is very similar to those that were made for export in the 1920’s and 1930’s.  Each link is hinged to the other.  A clear purple glass cabachon resembling amethyst is centered on a blue cloisonné enamel background fused with tiny twisted silver wires at the edges. Pink trefoil flowers on green leaves are placed at each end of the sectional e.  There are five in total.  The last one is the lock.  It is very well made.  The total weight is.  9 ounces.  On the back of each sections are four characters  that named the shop and a guarantee that it is pure silver.  Chinese silver is not sterling.  It has not been polished and remains in found condition.
Dating: 1920’s to 1930’s. Please note the characters read from left to right in a horizontal. This is a proof that the dating cannot be earlier than when the Republic of China was established in 1916. In the modernization of China, the Chinese written text was no longer written from top to bottom and from right to left. Instead the modern way was adopted to be written the same way as European text, from left to right in a horizontal line.
