    Description

Here is an interesting Detector and Two Stage Amplifier. This item is clearly kit build by someone back in 1918,1919 or early 1920's. This combination was to follow a stand alone tuner, like a Grebe CR-3, for example. This kind of set up quickly was replaced by radios that contained the tuner and detector tube or even the tuner, detector tube and one or two amplifier tubes in one cabinet.
Even though this item is early in radio terms, it is really in pretty nice cosmetic condition, with the exception of the deterioration of insulation on the wires inside as you can see from the pictures! This is one of the reasons it gives away it's identification as a kit build radio device. The wiring in a factory built unit would have been very orderly. From the pictures you can see that audio transformers and tubes are missing. The mild alligatoring of the cabinet finish really looks OK to me, and emphasizes the age. The wooden cabinet looks very good overall and is undamaged. The front panel is nice with no crack or chips. Check out the pictures.
I will pack this well for the buyer. Selling and Shipping to USA only.
