Great Pair of 1920’s Bakelite 1-7/8” Pointer KnobsA Great Pair of 1920’s Bakelite 1-7/8” Pointer Knobs. There are no markings for identifying the maker, but I have them shown in my 1926 Radio Catalog for Early Radio Enthusiasts by The Barawik Co. of Chicago. It’s listed as “Molded Bakelite Pointer Knob. This device is being widely used to replace dial knobs. Polished black bakelite with pointer outlined in white enamel. Each…… 15¢”
As noted in my 1926 Radio Catalog, the Pair of Dials are made of Black Bakelite with most of the white enamel missing from the tips of the knob - but this can easily be renewed by using a White Lacquer-Stik Fill-In Paintstick (YouTube – Robert Kuberski).
Except for that, the pair have some minor scuffs/scratches and are in VG Condition, especially when considering they’re nearly 100 yrs old.
They measure
1-5/8”
in diameter (at the arrow the width measures 1-7/8”) by 3/4” deep. The dials have a metal hub that accepts a 1/4” diameter shaft, using a set screw to secure to the shaft. Both set screws are missing.
The Nice Set of 1920’s Pointer Knobs are being offered here at a reasonable ‘Buy It Now’ price
