CROSLEY BANDBOX MODEL 601 WORKING

CROSLEY BANDBOX MODEL 601 WORKING.
This unit, circa 1927, was in pretty rough shape when I found it. I seem to attract the stary cats.
Tuning capacitors were shot to heck (pot metal curse) so I retrofitted three Atwater Kent tuning caps into it.
Outer pulleys are brass. Center pully is pot metal but in good shape. Brass bands are in excellent shape.
The tuning controller (also Pot metal) was broken of course. I had enough of the parts left to be able to wrap it in JB weld putty and it has held very well (I know I know, it's not what you would have done). :)
Tubes are included and in good condition.
Audio's are working.
RF Transformers are working despite the small dent in one of them.
Cabinet is in great condition but could be spruced up a bit.
Battery cable was not good at all which is why I have added the colored wires.
So after a bit of re-wiring, and some other work (audio transformer wires have shrink tubing on them to avoid shorts), This thing lit up and I was able to get some stations.
However; The restoration is not complete! The two levers beside the smaller knobs need to be bolted down at the top but the holes need to be tapped first (I do not have a tap and die set small enough).

I am selling this item as parts or restore due to it's age. While I do have it working, there is still some work to be done as described above.
This radio is definitely a keeper for your collection.
