See the pictures for details regarding the item(s).All tubes are intact.
1) The JR-3 was first introduced in 1919. The one up for sale in this listing is the 189th one made and is complete with two J-117 tubes, and its wooden box is in amazing condition for its age. It has two hand written notes in it, presumably written by Lauren Peckham. (It is safe to say there are no more than 10 in existence today; we were able to track down three including the one up for sale in this listing.)
2) Shortly after the JR-3 was introduced, its production ceased, as they were not functioning properly. Most were returned to the factory. The DR-6 followed. The DR-6 with the darker wooden box up for sale in this listing is one of the first of its kind; its box was initially used for a JR-3 (it can be seen that the screw holes that held a J-117 to the lid are plugged). The box is in great condition for its age.
3) After the returned JR-3 units' components were reused, DR-6s continued to be produced with "new" components. The other DR-6 up for sale in this listing is one such device. Its wooden box is in amazing condition for its age.
