All-Original 1926 Federal Model E-10 Orthosonic Radio, a Rare Early Deluxe Find!

In my ongoing quest to thin out my collection, I am or will soon be posting on Ebay a number of 1920’s battery sets, early crystal sets, and radio accessories that I picked up over the decades in here in northern New England, and never got around to restoring or even testing. This one is a Federal model E-10 “Orthosonic,” a 6-tube battery set from 1926. The Federal Telephone and Telegraph Company of Buffalo, NY was one of the very first manufacturers of high-quality radios, and their sets are highly prized by collectors today; this one represents one of their very first one-dial radios. That dial turns freely, by use of the single largest wooden knob I have ever seen on a set; the other knobs turn freely, as well. As you can tell by the pictures, this substantial set, which measures 27”w x 13”d x 12”h, is extremely well made; it’s also very heavy. These sets were quite expensive when new, and not many were sold; if you’ve been looking for one and feared you’d never find one, much less find one in such nice, all-original condition, this is your lucky day – you won’t come across a cleaner one! I offer it here with NO RESERVE – high bidder takes it!
