1924 Atwater Kent Model 10C Five Visible Tube Breadboard Receivers-All Original Attic Find NR
Here for your consideration is an Iconic 1924 Atwater Kent Model 10C (4700) Five Visable Tube Breadboard Receivers offered No Reserve.
This is an All Original Attic Find I just picked up in October at the same time as the 1928 Trav-Ler EVERY MAN 5 Tube Portable Radio I am also auctioning this week.
This early TRF Radio sold for .00 in 1924.
This was the 3rd and last
variant
of the Model 10 sold in 1924.
The first- Model 10A had horizontal mounted RF Coils and a potentiometer between the first two tube bases.
The second- Model 10B was the same as the 10A except they mounted the RF Coils horizontal.
This Model 10C was the same as the 10B with horizontal (AK called them Orthogonal) RF Coils except the potentiometer in front of the leftmost tube on the 10B was removed and the board was shortened on the 10C.
This 29” x 10.5” x 7” mahogany-based receiver was complete when I found it-minus tubes and the paper tag on the bottom.
I’ve included 5 good filament 4 pin display tubes.
All Knobs turn as they should.
Lettering is
extremally nice
at close to 100 years old.
I never clean or test these pre 1930 battery sets and will leave that up to you.
It could use a good cleaning to really POP, but I’ll leave that up to you.
It's not that I'm lazy, but most people like them showing some age, and those who like them looking almost new usually enjoy cleaning them to the level they prefer.
This is truly an iconic, eye catching, vintage, and historic piece of 99-year-old early Radio and Audio History that will look impressive wherever you display it.
Every good Radio Collection needs at least one visible tube breadboard!
